ABOUT
Pollo Surf School
Pollo Surf School is locally owned and operated. Oldemar Fenandez (aka Pollo) was born and raised in the Cabo Matapalo area. He has been teaching surfing since 2002, and is an International Surf Association certified instructor. His expertise of the area is unbeatable and he works together with a crew of local surfers that know the break.
Everyone working at Pollo Surf School speaks English and is trained in surfing instruction, to make sure you get the attention and coaching you need.
Oldemar himself is an avid surfer and his passion for the sport is easy to see during the lessons. He learned to surf at the age of 7 on a piece of broken board left behind by a tourist. Today he is known around the county for his big waves surfing and new age tricks. If he has a chance, you may see him doing a handstand while riding a wave during your lesson.
Location
The Break at Pan Dulce
The water is a wonderful 85 degrees year round at Playa Pan Dulce. The wave here is arguably one of the best in the world for learning to surf. It’s a perfect right point break for beginner to intermediate surfers that makes learning fun without any hazards. Whether you are 8 or 78 it’s a dream wave to learn on!
How to get here
If you arrive with your own vehicle, you can park on the Pan Dulce parking lot. Look to your left to see your instructors, surf boards, and our Pollo Surf School sign on the beach.
Surf lessons are held around low tide. We make weekly schedules based on the tide and the swell report.
